Jordan's 12th Birthday Party

I decided to use my new Verve Stamps to make Jordan's birthday card and invitations this year. Here is his birthday card.  I used my new Copic markers I got for Christmas on the images.  I'm still not very good with them yet, but I did ok. I used the Birthday Bash set of stamps from Verve and some Sassafras Lass number stamps. On the front of the card, I stamped the balloon image twice on the card and then again on white cardstock and colored them with Copics.  Then, I cut out the colored balloons and pop-dotted them on top of the stamped images on the card.  I stamped the numbers on white cardstock and cut them out.  I added crystal stickles on top of them to get some bling going.

On the inside of the card, I used the cake image on white cardstock and colored it with Copics.  Then, I stamped "Make A Wish" inside the cake image.  This way, I didn't smear the sentiment ink while coloring.  Finally, I stamped 3 star images on white cardstock, colored, and pop-dotted them on top of the cake.

I used the same set of Verve stamps for the invitations and used the same techniques.  I love how the sentiments fit inside the cake image. On this card, I used "Birthday Bash" inside the cake image.  I printed the party details on my printer and attached it inside the card.

Thanks for looking!  Hope this inspires you to make something cute!

Our Precious Gift 2010

This first thing I have to share on my new blog is our precious gift from God we received this holiday season, our son, Ryker Jaden.  Ryker was born on November 19, 2010, weighing in a 6 pounds and 13 ounces.  After 6 years of trying to have a brother for Jordan, we finally did it and we're just elated!

Here's my favorite shot from his first photo shoot. I had been planning this shot if I ever got to have another child and I'm so glad it came out so well.  I made the bow and the tag shown on him.  The tag was made using the Sweet Scallop Tag die and Sweet Scallop Tag stamp from Verve Stamps.  I printed "From God" on white cardstock using my computer printer.  Then, I stamped the tag around the sentiment and lined up the die to cut it out.  I love Verve dies because of the template that comes with them.  It's a clear template that matches the die and allows you to line up the die perfectly to your stamped image before cutting.  Genius!

Thanks for stopping by!
