Big News! and Blog Candy!

We are so so so excited to let you know we’ve partnered with the amazing Becky Higgins to bring you the real deal—authentic Project Life products, now in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors and designs. If you’ve somehow missed the Project Life craze and are wondering what it’s all about, we’ll fill you in: it’s a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it’s all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.
You’ll be able to order a selection of Project Life products starting May 1! And with the launch of our new annual catalog on June 2, you’ll be able to buy from our complete line of Project Life products.
Can’t wait that long? Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to order the limited selection starting April 21. So if you’re a demonstrator make sure to check the demonstrator website that day; if you’re not a demonstrator, sign up and you can order the products early too!
Here are the items you’ll be able to purchase on May 1:

So what's up with me?

On a personal note, I also have some big news since last posting last fall.  Yes, I am a slacker... sorry!  However, I am excited to have 3 new downline demonstrators added to my team!  Yippee!  Not, that I am trying to build a team for money or even bragging rights, but simply to have a group of friends who all enjoy the same things and can get together regularly and share!  Everything is so much better with friends!

Next, we celebrated Ryker's 3rd Birthday in November which was a big success and Jordan's 15th birthday in January.  I can't believe my first baby is about to start driving!  Scary!

Also, I am a member of the Junior League of Collin County where I have served as their Website Committee Chair for the last 2 years.  In December, I was slated as the VP Elect of the Communications Management Council. This means that in June of this year, I will become a member of the Board of Directors as the VP.  Yippee!!  I'm very excited about that as I have lots of ideas and plans to help out my league to support the community.

Lastly, I have started a new work position with Thomson Reuters as a Lead Software Engineer and I dare say it's got to be the best company I have ever worked for!  So loving it!

How about some Blog Candy to celebrate all that is going on??!!

Post a comment to this post about your thoughts on the new Project Life collaboration with Stampin' Up! and I will pick a winner to receive a FREE Paper Pumpkin Card-Making Kit worth $20!  This kit will come with clear mount stamps, an ink spot and the paper supplies to make a set of cards!

Hot off The Press! New Product Announcement!

OMG!  As if Stampin' Up! hasn't created enough excitement with our product specials this month!  Along with our INKredible ink offer we now have BIG news to share!!!  SU! has just announced the following:

Due to our partnership with Sizzix, we are pleased to be able to offer a test run of the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine in our North American markets. We have 4,000 available to be sold only while supplies last. If this product test goes well, we may offer the Texture Boutique again in the future.
The Texture Boutique works with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to transform ordinary cardstock, paper, metallic foil, or vellum into an embossed, textured masterpiece. This machine embosses only; it does not die cut. Because this is a product test, the Texture Boutique is not branded with the Stampin' Up! logo. It comes in Sizzix packaging and is the same color and design that is sold in stores. We recommend you read the included instructions before using the Texture Boutique and that you pass the same recommendation on to customers who purchase it.
'Tis the season of giving, and the Texture Boutique makes a wonderful gift for anyone who wants to create their own elegant embossed art. To help you with your gift-giving needs, we're offering a special value bundle that saves you $5.90. If you prefer, you can also purchase the Texture Boutique alone. Looking for stocking stuffers? Pick up some additional embossing folders.

Holiday Catalog Swap

These are some cards I created for a swap I participated in with other demonstrators from SUDSOL this week.

I used the following supplies to create my card:
  • Scentsational Season Clear-Mount Bundle Stamp set and Framelits
  • Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die
  • You Are Loved Clear-Mount Stamp Set
  • Very Vanilla, Early Espresso cardstock
  • Cherry Cobbler, Basic Grey and Green Gumball Ink pads
  • Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Dots Ribbon
  • Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper

Here's how I created the card.
  1. First I stamped 2 of the Coffee Mug images on Very Vanilla cardstock using Cherry Cobbler ink.  Then, I cut them out using the matchin Framelit design and my Big Shot.  For the mug on the left, I cut the handle off the mug image right along the edge of the mug and glued it to the other side of the mug.  Then, I glued the 2 mug images together.
  2. Next, I cut Very Vanilla with the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die and my Big Shot and glued the Mug images to the center towards the top of the diecut.
  3. Then, I stamped the steam image in Basic Grey directly on top of each mug and the Oval Accent diecut.
  4. Next, I stamped the sentiment from You Are Loved stamp Set in Gumball Green at the bottom of the Oval Accent diecut.
  5. As an accent, I tied a piece of Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Dots ribbon in a knot and looped it around the right side of the Oval Accent diecut.
  6. Finally, I added the diecut with dimensionals to the center of a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Candlelight Christmas Designer Paper on top of a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" scored card from Early Espresso Cardstock.

The Holiday Catalog is Out!

If you don’t have one of these catalogs in your hot little hands, check out the pdf online or let me know so I can get one to you in person.  This is my favorite holiday catalog yet!  So many fabulous things.
